Workshop Description:
This is an advanced sewing workshop perfect for anyone who has sewn before and looking to take their sewing skills to the next level. Over the course of this class, you will learn how to make your own lace up skirt and be introduced to upcylcing where you will get to turn old item of clothing or fabric that you love into a skirt!
What You’ll Learn:
Basic Sewing Terminology: we Familiarize yourself with essential terms and tools.
Machine Basics: Understand how to operate a sewing machine safely and effectively.
Fabric Selection: Learn about different types of fabrics and how to choose the right one for your projects.
Project Creation: By the end of the workshop you will have learnt how to make your very own upcycled lace up skirt as well as improved your sewing skills.
Materials Needed:
An old item of clothing or fabric to make your skirt out of (please see material guide for more info or contact info@studio-seventy.com for any questions )
I also have lots of fabric in my studio available to use
We will provide the skirt pattern for the workshop - Sizes SMALL - EXRA LARGE
Provided:
Each student will be provided with their own workshop packs to keep which includes;
- A sewing kit to keep which includes all the essentials for sewing
- your own notepad for sketching / take notes whilst learning
- A gold pen
- Fabric swatches to practice on during the workshop / at home
- Corset trim ; strings. , eyelets , cord ends
